Auto Attendant custom greeting file format

Brian Hadfield -

Exchange Auto Attendants (as well as Lync Response Groups) allow for the use of custom recorded greetings and prompts.  In order for a custom recorded file to be used by Exchange UM, it will need to be recorded (or converted) to a specific file format.

Format: .wav (PCM)

Attributes: 8 kHz, 16 Bit, Mono.

If the application that will be used to create the custom greetings allows for additional configuration, use the settings below for best results.

Bit Rate: 128 kbps

Audio Sample Size: 16 bit

Channels: 1 (mono)

Audio Sample Rate: 8 kHz

Audio Format: PCM

If it is not possible to create the file natively in the format listed above, there are a number of applications that can convert virtually any file format to comply with the requirements for Exchange.  Please note that converting the file format frequently results in a loss of fidelity so we would recommend that every effort is made to record the file in the required format initially.
